  • 1. Welcome & Introduction (10 min)
    • Guests are welcomed with tea and traditional sweets.

  • 2. Preparing the Cradle (15 min)
    • Elder women gently dress the child in traditional clothes.
    • They explain the meaning of each item:
      • Ormo — swaddling cloth for the baby
      • Jelek — cover cloth
      • Tör — the place of honor for the cradle
    • Guests can watch and take photos.
  • 3. Placing the Baby in the Cradle (20 min)
    • A respected grandmother carefully places the baby in the cradle.
    • She sings a traditional Kyrgyz lullaby (beshik yry) and gives a blessing (bata) for the baby’s health and happiness.
    • Guests may listen to the traditional lullaby.
  • 4. Family Celebration (25 min)
    • Relatives bring gifts — clothes or toys.
    • Short games, songs, and jokes create a joyful atmosphere.
    • Guests may be invited to symbolically rock the cradle or give blessings to the baby.
  • 5. Tea & Cultural Talk (20 min)
    • Guests enjoy tea, boorsok, and kurt while listening to short stories about Kyrgyz family life and parenting traditions.
